For years we carried our DBS Dish in the passenger's seat of our "toad". In order to watch satellite TV, we mounted the dish to a long pipe
that fit on our RV's trailer hitch. This set-up was quite inconvenient.
We wanted to replace our "Batwing" with a DBS system. We looked at many commercial dish systems that mounted in place of a batwing type
antenna. None of these would mount properly, as our A/C was installed too close to the batwing. To solve this predicament, we designed
a conversion kit that would easily replace the batwing antenna with a DBS dish. This used all of the existing batwing hardware and a
standard DBS dish. Everything works the same, except now we enjoy satellite TV with hardly any effort.
The system worked so great that we felt others might have a similar problem or just wanted to save a few dollars by re-cycling batwing
type antenna. We also included the installations instructions for the the "TERK" antenna (clipped to the dish), it enables you to receive
local (UHV/VHF) programming.
